The FORUM Youth Program

The Forum Youth Program provides opportunities for young people to engage with architecture and design through observation, drawing, making, and spatial investigation.

Organized around different age groups and formats, the program introduces design as a process of inquiry: understanding existing conditions, developing ideas, testing them through drawings and models, and communicating design decisions. Programs range from one-day workshops to week-long summer studies and draw on the knowledge and working methods of architectural practice.

Summer Design Camp

Summer Design Camp introduces students in Grades 4–8 to architecture and design through play.

Drawing, model-making, storytelling, material exploration, and collaborative activities are used to investigate space, scale, structure, and the built environment. Through making and experimentation, participants learn to observe their surroundings, develop ideas, test possibilities, and understand design as an open-ended process.

Design Days

Design Days are one-day architecture and design workshops for students in Grades 4–8.

Each workshop is organized around a specific design question and uses drawing, model-making, and hands-on investigation to explore a particular aspect of the built environment. Design Days are offered on selected PA Days and are also available as year-round programs for organized groups.
